TALK DESCRIPTION:
Integration is a term mentioned consistently within the psychedelic community. It’s a universal understanding that integration provides a crucial role in the overall healing process and growth that takes place through the utilization of psychedelic medicines, as well as a variety of other transformational modalities. However, the meaning of integration and what the integration process looks like can change drastically depending on the individual. It’s a very unique and intimate relationship built between the person and their healing path. Due to the ever-evolving landscape of healing and transformation a person undergoes, the idea of what integration represents can be quite elusive. In line with integration is the recovery process for addiction. Terms like sobriety, recovery and addiction are also very intimate relationships built by the individual which can provide a spectrum of varying understandings depending on the person. Through the highly personal nature of addiction recovery, different beliefs and experiences can produce disconnect between individuals who follow conflicting recovery pathways causing stigma, judgement and separation. Let us not focus so much on the differences but embrace the many similarities facing individuals as they facilitate their desire to heal and optimize the human experience. In this presentation we will explore the journey of transformation; as we dive deeper into the work, the needs and resistance of our shadow becomes more focused, more defined. As we become clearer in our own understanding and personal relationships with healing integration and addiction, we can then sharpen our tools and ability to navigate our healing path.
BIO
Tyler battled his way through a 10-year IV opiate addiction before reconnecting with his true self and overcoming his demons. Through his process of transformation, Tyler found solace and reinforcement through surfing, yoga, meditation and alternative spiritual modalities such as ibogaine and other plant medicines to reconstruct his outlook on life. Tyler has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and has been working with Ibogaine for the past 2 years with various facilities including Crossroads Ibogaine Center. Tyler is now helping build an Ibogaine referral program called Ibogaine Central that works with multiple Ibogaine Centers around the world to offer a more personalized care of treatment across the spectrum of pricing, amenities and structure. Tyler is also a certified transformational recovery coach and contracts with the recovery coaching company Being True To You, which specializes in one-on-one preparation and integration through ibogaine and other psycho-spiritual modalities in the treatment of addiction, PTSD and depression.
