Ashley Booth Presents: "I'm excited to spark a dialogue with the community about what comes next for the Aware Project. I will briefly go over why I created the Aware Project, what we have accomplished so far, and some ideas on where we can go from here. Then, I want to open up the conversation to the community for a dialogue about what we want to create together. If you have been wanting to participate more in the Aware Project, we are looking forward to creating a collaborative space and getting more people involved. Come with your ideas!"
BIO: Most of you already know Ashley, founder of the Aware Project. You may not know that Ashley's background is in the sciences, and that she has a Masters in Physical Oceanography. Since 2006, Ashley has worked at prominent universities and state environmental agencies. Concurrently, Ashley found herself diving deeper and deeper into the festival scene, exploring the fringes of consciousness and culture. Early in 2013 Ashley experienced a profound entheogenic experience, which, for the next few years, ignited the fire of activism in her heart, and led her ultimately to create the Aware Project: Rethinking Psychedelics. This led Ashley to leave her job, as she embarked on a career shift into advocacy work and counseling. In the last year, Ashley co-founded InnerSpace Integration, completed the first half of a somatic psychotherapy training program, was hired by Crossroads Treatment Center in Mexico as a psychospiritual counselor, and participated in the MAPS therapist training. This coming year, she will serve as project coordinator for the Los Angeles clinical trail for MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD. She is also on her way back to graduate school, on a path to licensure.
