THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RIVER- Talk and book launch event with Dr. Joe Tafur.

The Aware Project (www.awareproject.org) hosts a series of monthly Psychedelic Awareness Salon events in Southern California. We are creating a connected and educated community that feels passionately about balancing the conversation about psychedelics.

 

SCHEDULE

Doors open at 7:00 PM for mingling.

Talk will begin at 7:30 PM.

Presentation with Q&A, Book signing and networking.

 

BIO:

Dr. Joe Tafur is a Colombian-American family physician originally from Phoenix, Arizona. After completing his family medicine training at UCLA, Dr. Tafur spent two years in academic research at the UCSD Department of Psychiatry in a lab focused on mind-body medicine. After his research fellowship, over a period of six years, he lived and worked in the Peruvian Amazon at the traditional healing center Nihue Rao Centro Espiritual. There he worked closely with master Shipibo shaman Ricardo Amaringo and trained in ayahuasca shamanism. He has recently published a book about his unique experiences and developing theories entitled: The Fellowship of the River: A Medical Doctor's Exploration into Traditional Amazonian Plant Medicine. Please register for tickets online before arriving. $10 pre-sale and $15 at the door. We have a limited number of volunteer positions if you can't afford the ticket price (first come, first serve).
